Bahraini Women Union
A union that includes a group of Bahraini women’s associations, with a democratic nature and diverse energies, capabilities and resources, working to achieve the empowerment and development of women and the family in all fields. The Bahraini Women’s Union’s preparatory committee emerged from the general meeting organized by both the Bahrain Girl’s Renaissance Association and the Awal Women’s Association in April. 2001, where its membership included (6) women’s associations, (14) women’s committees in professional associations, mixed associations, and the Federation of Trade Unions, and (4) elected female members representing individuals. The committee completed the drafting of the union’s statute in November 2001.
