The permanent headquarters in Geneva will provide exceptional advantages through its geographical and political proximity to the European Headquarters of the United Nations and the United Nations Human Rights Council. It will also facilitate direct engagement with major international organizations based in Geneva, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Tahia Bint Lahbib, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Women Authority and President of the Mauritanian Women&#8217;s Union, stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The establishment of the Authority in Geneva represents a fundamental milestone in our journey. Our presence alongside the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and the World Health Organization provides us with a powerful international platform to highlight the achievements of Arab women and build cross-border development partnerships that support and empower women in all fields.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For her part, Shukoor Bint Salem Al-Ghamariyah, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Women Authority and former Member of the State Council of the Sultanate of Oman, emphasized that choosing Geneva as the headquarters of the first international Arab organization to operate from this global center is far more than a change of location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It is our gateway to deepening cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and United Nations agencies. Our objective is to strengthen the presence of Arab women leaders in international forums and to develop sustainable development initiatives that create lasting impact.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, Majda Al-Wifati, Member of the Board of Trustees and President of the Libyan Women&#8217;s Union, expressed her pride in what she described as Geneva&#8217;s historic transition for the Authority:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This proximity to international decision-makers and leading human rights and health organizations will accelerate our women&#8217;s empowerment programs and enable us to present the inspiring success stories of Arab women directly and effectively to the international community.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahdiya Al-Sayed, Member of the Board of Trustees responsible for International Organizations Affairs and former President of the Bahraini Journalists Association, affirmed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our presence in Geneva today enables us to lead broad international alliances and establish effective partnerships dedicated to protecting women&#8217;s rights.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Yasmine Bekdache, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Women Authority, stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We will simultaneously work to transfer and adapt successful European experiences and best practices in support of small and innovative women-led enterprises, ensuring comprehensive economic and health empowerment for Arab women.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Bekdache added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our fight against breast cancer and cervical cancer is entering a new phase from Geneva. Through the Authority&#8217;s 2050 Strategy, we aim to lead an international coalition dedicated to eliminating breast cancer by bringing together medical expertise and financial resources to provide advanced care. Our proximity to the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross will accelerate the implementation of our health programs designed to protect women across our communities.
