EARTH WOMEN
The women of the earth are free and overflowing with the dawn
And heavenly signs Sprinkle the herbs with perfume
Take care of them, my heart It knocked for them in the chest
Without them, we wouldn’t be
But a tree of rocks …
*
The women of the earth are the shining light of our life
The spirit of the house and the street
And flared sacks
The wide range makes us …
Without them, a star would not have laughed for us
Nor is a word true for us
Nor did the sun rise to us
And no darkness has settled for us …
Help them, my heart
It knocked for them in the chest
Without them, we would not be
Only trees without fruit …
*
The women of the earth are a date with due
And a hurricane on the usurper
Stop helping the complainant
And the eye guards the absent …
Without them, a flower would not have opened for us
We have no idea
Nor green for us
Nor has a fruit ripe for us …
Take command of them, my heart
It knocked for them in the chest
Without them, we wouldn’t be
Only a flower without a perfume …
*
The women of the earth are the honor of our promising generation
Dream and love sprinkled
The wedding of the mind and the forearm
The Peace and War Army …
Without them, a verse would not have appeared to us.
Nor did it condemn us to an end
Nor have paths extended to us
Nor did it rise to us …
Help them, my heart
It knocked for them in the chest
Without them, we wouldn’t be
Only a bow without victory …
The words of the great Tunisian poet Adam Fathy
