The Distinguished Arab Woman Award is an initiative designed to highlight the achievements of Arab women across various fields of work and to document their scientific and professional accomplishments. The award aims to showcase their artistic, cultural, and scientific contributions, presenting a positive and inspiring image of Arab women at regional and international forums.
The award is based on open nomination mechanisms for all women, neutral and fair judging, and strict criteria of achievement and excellence, culminating in the recognition of outstanding distinction.
The award was launched in its first cycle in 2004 under the auspices of the Arab League,
with the support and encouragement of His Excellency Amr Moussa, Secretary-General of the Arab League. To broaden the scope and significance of the award, it was decided that the presentation ceremony for each cycle be held in a different Arab capital, making this event one of the most prestigious Arab awards honoring distinguished Arab women in various fields of work, creativity, and innovation.
This award, which serves as a source of inspiration and motivation, has received the sponsorship and support of several Arab leaders and has been hosted in various Arab capitals in celebration and recognition of the role of Arab women and their contributions to building society.
It has become the most important Arab award to be won by the Distinguished Arab Women Awards.
