Arab Women Authority Launches “Our World is Green” Initiative to Plant 22 Million Trees Across the Arab World The Arab Women Authority has announced the launch of the “Our World is Green” Initiative, a pioneering Arab program that aligns with global efforts to protect the environment and combat climate change This ambitious initiative aims to plant 22 million trees in 22 Arab countries over the next five years, strengthening women’s participation in innovative projects that contribute to reducing the devastating effects of climate change and environmental pollution.

“Our World is Green is more than just an environmental program—it is a developmental and humanitarian commitment. By empowering women and engaging local communities, we are creating sustainable solutions that protect our environment and our future generations,” this statement  is at the core of the Arab Women Authority’s environnemental and social efforts.

Authority Strategy 2050

The program will be implemented through strategic partnerships with donor funds and civil society organizations, with the participation of all Arab women’s unions and associations that are members of the Authority. The initiative also focuses on expanding green spaces, combating desertification, and establishing protective green belts around cities.

Key Objectives of the Initiative:

This is a comprehensive plan aiming to empower women and promote their leadership across various sectors, with a focus on strengthening their participation in decision-making bodies and achieving gender balance and equality in all domains.

Women’s Empowerment in the Labor Market

The strategy seeks to increase women’s participation in the workforce, especially in future-oriented sectors such as artificial intelligence and information technology, to enhance their competitiveness in the job market.

Women’s Capacity Building

The strategy aims to upgrade women’s skills and prepare them to keep pace with the vast transformations in the realm of the knowledge economy and sustainable development.

Implementation of Developmental and Humanitarian Projects

The strategy seeks to forge effective and long-term partnerships with funding entities and philanthropic institutions to implement health, education, and humanitarian relief projects tailored to the needs of women in least developed countries, regardless of race, religion, or color.
