The Arab Women Authority has launched the “I Am Arab” initiative in commemoration of May 22, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the Authority more than a quarter of a century ago — a long-standing journey of empowerment, dedication, and achievement. This occasion represents a renewed expression of pride in Arab identity and the rich civilizational heritage carried by every woman throughout the Arab world.
In a press statement issued today, the Media Office of the Arab Women Authority stated that “I Am Arab” is not merely a slogan, but rather a reaffirmation of a deeply rooted identity grounded in history and confidently aspiring toward a future shaped by the intellect, determination, and contributions of women. Through this initiative, every Arab woman affirms that the Authority — established in the year 2000 as a comprehensive Arab developmental and renaissance-oriented project for Arab women both within the Arab world and across diaspora communities — has become a true embodiment of the aspirations of Arab women. The Authority continues to work effectively within regional and international forums to present the bright image of Arab women, document their creative achievements, and contribute to the development of their capacities and leadership roles.
The Media Office further announced that beginning in 2027, this inspiring anniversary will be celebrated annually by all Arab women’s unions and associations affiliated with the Authority, as well as by Arab women across the world, in affirmation of pride in Arab identity and belonging to a glorious civilizational history. Various activities and programs will be organized to commemorate the occasion, including women carrying the logo of the Arab Women Authority, hosting celebratory events, seminars, and diverse forms of cultural and social expression reflecting the significance and symbolism of this milestone. The statement emphasized that the Authority has evolved into a distinguished Arab organization with respected international standing, enjoying recognition, appreciation, and cooperation from numerous governmental and non-governmental international organizations.
A tribute of admiration and respect is extended to every Arab woman who leaves her creative mark and demonstrates excellence across all fields of science, work, and innovation throughout the continents of the world.
