Yasmine Bekdache, the Assistant to the Secretary-General of the Arab Women Authority, met today in Beirut at the headquarters of the Council of Lebanese Women with her Excellency Mrs. Laura Sfeir, the President of the Council.
The media office of the Arab Women Authority stated in a press release issued today that the meeting, which was attended by Ms. Linda Atallah, Dr. Hind Al-Soufi and Dr. Linda Al-Husseini, involved congratulating her excellency Mrs. Sfeir on her election to the new position and discussing prospects for cooperation and coordination with the Council, as it is a member of the Authority and represents Lebanon in the General Assembly of the Arab Women Authority. This is particularly relevant within the framework of preparations for the upcoming General Assembly meeting early next year.
The meeting also involved discussing several ideas concerning a number of developmental, humanitarian, and health projects for the benefit of women in Lebanon.
For her part, her Excellency Mrs. Sfeir expressed her welcome for the Assistant to the Secretary-General and the Council’s readiness to cooperate with the Authority in all that would enhance the path of joint Arab action and serve Lebanese women.
