Dr. Tarifa Al-Zaabi, Director General of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), has hosted this morning, in the presence of a number of members of the management team, a delegation from the Arab Women Authority, headed by His Excellency Muhammad Al-Dulaimi, Secretary-General of the Authority. The delegation included Dr. Lina Abu Baker, Executive Director of the Arab Women Authority, and Ms. Mais Muhammad, Goodwill Ambassador for woman and child.
The visit comes within the framework of enhancing cooperation between the two parties to empower women in the environmental and agricultural sector, through

partnerships and cooperation aimed at supporting the initiatives of the two parties in areas of common interest, in addition to discussing ways of cooperation in the COP28 initiatives.

Emphasizing ICBA’s support for efforts to empower women and women’s activism on the local and international scene, Dr. Tarifa Al-Zaabi said: “We are working diligently at the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) to empower women in the agricultural sector because of its positive impact on achieving the goals of sustainable development and addressing to the challenges of climate change, and we have many initiatives that aim to enhance the knowledge of women to create prosperity in agriculture and make an effective impact, in addition to providing them with support for applying best practices, visions, policies and recommendations on innovation and agriculture in light of the challenges of climate change.

She added: “Our cooperation with the Arab Women’s Authority constitutes a great support for strengthening the role of women in the agricultural sector, and working closely with them contributes to creating a quick and effective impact due to their dedicated efforts in empowering Arab women and emphasizing their main role in all fields and at various levels.”

For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Al-Dulaimi said: “The effective partnerships between international bodies and organizations reap the fruits of major plans and projects, and we are pleased to cooperate with ICBA to enhance the role of women in the agricultural sector, which constitutes a basic nucleus in the structure of countries and societies, to establish programs for raising productive farms for women in the least developed countries.”
He added: “We are working diligently to spread environmental awareness based on the importance of community contribution, by spreading the culture of the environment and taking care of the planet on which we live.”
